Forty Days To November:
Day 39 - Priorities

In 1966, Robert F. Kennedy described what happens when citizens join together in a righteous cause:
Sadly, it's not your
Democrat Party anymore.
"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation...
"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped.  Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
Freed from Babylonian exile, the children of Israel returned to their land and enthusiastically began to rebuild the temple. But the strenuous work, fear, and other hardships turned their inital joy into despondency, and they put the project aside.  With the temple still unfinished sixteen years later, the prophet Haggai told the people that they had put their own priorities above God's. When they repented, put God first, and completed the temple, God blessed them with joy and prosperity.

Patriot's Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive us for those times we put aside your work. You've called us to and turned our attention to foolish things. We want to live according to Your will and Your priorities.

Patriot's Promise: "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." ~Matthew 6:33
