Forty Days To November:
Day 37 - A Sure Foundation

Founding Father James Madison, author of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, is also responsible for our three-part government.  Most people do not know, however, that his design came from one Scripture: Isaiah 33:22.

James Madison
Bring that fact up to anyone at your next philosophical or political conversation, or anyone who challenges that this nation of ours is founded upon Judeo-Christian values, and that fact guarantees a surprise to it's recipient.  {Brief personal input here: James Madison is my favorite of all the Founding Fathers. Patrick Henry is a close 2nd :) }

Isaiah 33:22
For the Lord is our Judge [judicial branch]
The 3-headed Eagle: representing
the 3 branches of government; the wings
represent the philosophiesbehind
Left and Right.
(far from what it is today
The Lord is our Lawgiver [legislative branch]
The Lord is our King [executive branch]
He will save us.

Consider this snapshot from April 18, 1775: Founding Fathers John Adams and John Hancock were at the home of Reverend Jonas Clarke, a pastor as well as a militia leader (!!!) in Lexington.  That night silversmith and patriot Paul Revere warned them of the British soldiers who were approaching, and fast.

The Battle at Lexington and Concord
The next morning British Major Pitcairn shouted to the assembled minutemen, "Disperse ye damned villains! Lay down your arms in the name of George the Sovereign King of England."  Hear the immediate response of John Adams and John Hancock: "We recognize no Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus Christ."

James Madison, John Adams, John Hancock, and others built this land upon Christian and Judeo principles, for God's glory and the for the people's good.

Patriot's Prayer: Father God, please use us in our communities, states, and even this great nation so that people who look upon the United States will see that we, like our forefathers, recognize only God as sovereign and Christ as our King.

Patriot's Promise: Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You"
~Psalm 33:22
