fe·tus
  [fee-tuhs]
noun
(used chiefly of viviparous mammals)  he young of an animal in the womb or egg, especially in the later stages of development when the body structures are in the recognizable form of its kind, in humans after the end of the second month of gestation. Origin: 1350–1400; Middle English:< Latin fētus: bringing forth of young, hence that which is born, offspring, young still in the womb

Based on the definition of "fetus" here from Dictionary.com, the word being applied to an unborn child is innacurate to say the least. The term "fetus" is used in Zoology to refer to the offspring of mammals, viviparous mammals who produce live offspring as opposed to animals that lay eggs. Yet, I'm quite certain that those who study and work in the zoological fields do not include human beings as objects in their field.

No one says "When is your fetus due?"
No one throws a "Fetus Shower."
We don't send congratulatory cards saying "Welcome Fetus!"
Inside or outside the womb, there is a baby, a child, a human being.

When we read about older cultures such as the Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Incas, and Moche most people with any sense of feeling cringe when the practice of infant killing are described. The Carthinaginians and Phoenicians threw babies down into fire pits where they would burn to death. The Inca sacrificed infants by poinsoning, strangulation, or being beaten in the head. The Moche peoples sacrificed huge numbers of males by draining their blood or decapitating them. Most of these sacrificies were about territory and dominance.

How is the killing of 1.4 million human beings in America per year any worse than these older cultures who deliberately practiced infanticide? Well, we're more modern now, so aborticide the mother's "choice."

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-212) is a United States law which recognizes a child in utero as a legal victim, if he or she is injured or killed during the commission of any of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence. Read the text of this law HERE.

Why do these photos need to be viewed and published? Because there is a claim by many Americans that "abortions are rare." That is a lie.
